This guide describes the basic concepts and architecture of a domain on JEUS® (hereafter JEUS), its components, and their functions. It is intended for developers and administrators who need to understand how to configure and manage domains.
To understand the basic usage and concepts of JEUS, refer to the following guides.
All examples and environment configurations are written according to the UNIX style. Hence, a few considerations must be given when working in a non-UNIX environment such as Microsoft Windows™ (hereafter Windows).
For example, for path delimiters, the UNIX style "/" must be changed to the Windows style, "\". The environment variables must also be changed to the Windows style, (%%). JEUS_HOME, referred to throughout this guide, is the directory in which JEUS is installed.
This guide does not cover basic technologies of Java EE or JMX. For more information, refer to relevant Java documents.
This guide consists of 7 chapters.
Descriptions of each are as follows:
"Chapter 1. Introduction to Domains"
Describes the concepts and composition of a domain.
"Chapter 2. Creating a Domain"
Describes how to create a domain and its directory structure.
"Chapter 3. Changing Domain Settings"
Describes how to change and apply domain settings.
Describes how to control servers and change their status in the domain.
Describes the concepts of a cluster as a part of a domain.
Describes issues that can occur when a server terminates abnormally and how to resolve them.
"Chapter 7. Security Management"
Describes security requirements for a domain.
