This guide is intended for database administrators (DBA) who intend to use Tibero® (hereafter Tibero).
This guide describes how to create and efficiently manage databases.
The user must have knowledge of the following in order to understand this guide:
Database
RDBMS
Operating systems and system environments
UNIX and Linux
This guide does not contain all the information required to operate Tibero. For information related to installation, configuration, operation and management, refer to each relevant guide.

This guide consists of 15 chapters and 4 appendices.
Descriptions for each are as follows:
Chapter 1: Introduction to Tibero
Describes the basic concepts, processes, and directory structures of Tibero from the perspective of a DBA.
Chapter 2: Basic Database Administration
Describes the basic knowledge needed for the administration of Tibero.
Chapter 3: File and Data Management
Describes the methods used to manage files and data of Tibero.
Chapter 4: Schema Object Management
Describes the methods used to manage schema objects needed for the makeup of databases in Tibero.
Chapter 5: User Management and Database Security
Describes methods to create and manage users, privileges, and roles for database security.
Chapter 6: Backup and Recovery
Describes various backup and recovery methods used for unexpected system failure.
Chapter 7: Distributed Transactions
Describes the functions provided by Tibero to support distributed transactions.
Chapter 8: Tibero Standby Cluster
Describes Tibero Standby Cluster, which is used for high availability, data protection, and disaster recovery.
Chapter 9: Tibero Cluster Manager
Describes the basic concepts, environment configuration, and startup of Tibero New Cluster Manager.

Describes the highly scalable and available Tibero Active Cluster.

Describes tbdsn.tbr, a configuration file necessary for clients to access Tibero.
Appendix B: V$SYSSTAT
Describes the various system statistics that are contained in the dynamic view V$SYSSTAT.
Appendix C: Troubleshooting
Describes how to solve problems that may occur while using Tibero.
Appendix D: Client Environment Variables
Describes the environment variables that can be specified by clients.
