This guide describes how to configure the session manager and session server used in the JEUS®(hereafter JEUS) web engine. This guide is intended for system administrators and developers who manage the sharing and maintenance of sessions in a clustered environment or on a single server.
Users should have the following knowledge to fully understand this guide.
Basic knowledge about sessions.
Working knowledge of HTTP sessions.
It is recommended to read the following guides in order to understand the basic usage of JEUS as well as the product itself.

All examples and environment configurations are written according to the UNIX style. Hence, a few considerations must be given when working in a non-UNIX environment such as Microsoft Windows™(hereafter Windows).
For example, for path delimiters, the UNIX style "/" must be changed to the Windows style, "\". As well, the environment variables must be changed to the Windows style, (%%). JEUS_HOME, which is specified in this guide, is the directory in which JEUS is installed.
This document will not explain the basic concepts of J2EE or SNMP. Refer to their relevant documents for more information. As well, this guide does not cover information about the Servlet standard specifications.

This guide consists of two chapters.
Describes the structure of session tracking, as well as its operation, configuration method, and tuning.

Describes the structure, operation, and configuration of distributed session servers that are used for session tracking in a clustered environment.
